The Studio
At That Art Place we have two passions: kiln-fired art and children’s art education.
In their walk-in studio we offer two kiln-fired art forms: fused glass & paint your own pottery. In the adult and kids workshops, you will explore those mediums, as well as clay hand building, on a deeper level.
Providing quality art education for preschool and elementary aged children is key for their studio. Their semester-long art classes are developed by dedicated art teachers to give students a cohesive instruction in a variety of mediums, artists and techniques.
History
That Art Place was founded by Ben and Michelle Weaver in January of 2014. Michelle has always had a dream of opening her own studio and Ben is an entrepreneur at heart. Michelle has a degree in Art and Education and previously taught in public schools for 5 years. This experience prepared her for this industry, but also awakened her to the great need for creativity and artistic expression in our society. With many schools lacking art education and families who are busier than ever, the Weavers recognized the opportunity to provide a joyful creative space for families, children and adults. Together they are using their skills to offer memorable experiences and education to the local community.

Quality Art Instruction for Kids and Adults
Learn from their skilled art instructors during a step-by-step in-studio art class. Their adult classes focus on kiln-fired art, like fused glass and clay. Creative freedom welcome!
They offer 12-week kids art classes in the Spring and Fall developed by certified art teachers. A fun (& mess free) option for your child’s art education, especially homeschool families!

Host the event at That Art Place or they can bring the party to you. That Art Place is centrally located in Belton, Texas, just a short drive from Austin, Waco, Temple or Killeen. The perfect meeting place for your group!
Create at Your Pace, in Your Space
Rather create at home? They will pack up your pottery to-go!
Any piece in their studio can be packaged to-go. Choose our non-fired pottery glaze if you don’t want to wait for the kiln or our traditional kiln fired pottery glaze if you want a high gloss, food safe piece.
