Solana Ranch

The premier destination for outstanding Texas Bowhunting adventures.

The Solana Ranch is a one of a kind 9000 acre cattle and wildlife ranch that stretches more than 13 miles over the Central Texas Hill Country.  The abundance of water, supplied by the Salado Creek, Rumsey Creek and Buttermilk creek which are fed by more than 18 active natural spring, gives the ranch a scenic landscape and a vital resource for our Wildlife and Cattle.  The diverse property creates the perfect habitat for Whitetail deer, Rio Grande Turkeys, Ferrel Hogs, Dove, and the various Exotic game on the ranch.

The Solana Ranch was purchased in contiguous tracts between 1950 and 1984 by Frank W. Michaux because of the beautiful landscape, the over 6 miles of creeks, and its close proximity to the state capitol, Austin. Originally registered Hereford Cattle were raised but in 1973 it was converted to a registered Simmental cattle operation. It was also in 1973 that exotic game was introduce to the ranch.

In 2000 the ranch started the Contract Cattle Operation, bringing in cattle owned by other ranchers, taking care of them from breeding to birth and maintaining the herd throughout the year.  The staff and the ranches facilities have made this a tremendous success. Give them a call at 254-598-0248 or email them at solanaranch@aol.com to book a visit. For more information visit the Solana Ranch website.
