Santa’s Wonderland was first opened in 1998 as a drive through light display! Over the course of more than 25 years, Santa’s Wonderland has transformed into a massive Texas Christmas attraction, becoming a Christmas tradition for many families over the years! Since the beginning, many special Christmas seasons have come and gone, and thousands of guests have toured the dazzling Christmas attraction! Every year Santa’s Wonderland adds new scenes and holiday light displays throughout the park and Trail of Lights!
Santa’s Wonderland is also always improving and enhancing other aspects of the Texas Christmas Experience, including parking lots, musical entertainment, new activities, and new food items! It is composed of Santa’s Town, our nostalgic Texas Christmas Village, and our headlining attraction, the magnificent Trail of Lights! Santa’s Town is the place for food, musical entertainment, shopping, and a myriad of fun and unique activities for people of all ages.
The Trail of Lights provides guests with the opportunity to tour exquisitely crafted Christmas scenes that sparkle with over 3 million lights! Most of the Christmas lights remain up during the off-season, especially now with the L.E.D. holiday light conversion in recent years. However, wind, rain, and the sun’s UV rays do serious damage to the lights, so some have to be stored away once the park is closed for the season. Replacing the damaged lights is a very tedious and time-consuming process, but maintaining the brilliant colors for the holidays is always worth the extra effort.
Santa’s Wonderland is a heart-felt preservation and perpetuation of the true meaning and “Spirit” of Christmas! The idea for this magical holiday attraction originated from a personal love and sincere passion for the Christmas holiday season. Many creative and talented people have contributed to this magical place throughout the years. Through personal dedication and hard work, this Christmas masterpiece has been created to be a bright light in a dark world. Without these individuals and their unique skills, dedication, and true love for the Christmas season, there would be no Santa’s Wonderland!
