History

Established in 2008, Kerrville Hills Winery was the city’s first winery. The winery’s focus was premium quality, boutique Texas wine. It was taken over by John Riverburgh in 2019. Riverburgh is an acclaimed winemaker who is passionate about harvesting sustainable, high quality Texas grapes. After purchasing Kerrville Hills Winery, he set out to create a communal space winemaking boutique operation.

Offerings

At KHW, visitors can taste a large selection of award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed environment. The winery frequently hosts wine tastings, winery tours, outdoor & indoor seating, wine by the glass, and a gift shop. Guests may even picnic on their 30-acre plot and enjoy the tranquility of the Hill.

Tasting Room

This is a spacious room built over the Kerrville homestead. The room’s rustic decor, double-sided fireplace, and leather seating sets the mood and tone for a pleasant wine tasting session. In addition, the tasting room offers scenic views of the Guadalupe River Valley and the wine production area.

KHW’s tasting room is available from Thursday to Saturday 11am – 6pm and on Sunday, 12pm – 5pm.

Events

Apart from wine tasting, KHW hosts fun-filled events such as wine and yoga, painting parties, food trucks, live music, wine club parties, and even murder mystery dinners.
