Inn on the Creek is an elegant 19-room lodging property made up of a variety of fully restored structures situated on fourteen acres on the banks of spring-fed Salado Creek. The Inn provides private-club style service and gourmet dining to satisfy any five-star palate. The staff provides concierge services throughout your stay and is always happy to accommodate special requests, whether you are one of our cherished guests or a visiting dignitary. Rooms include replenishment of amenities for multiple-day stays and an upscale continental breakfast.
History
Our Inn is nestled along the banks of Salado Creek in the historic Village of Salado, Texas. The older section of the Inn was originally constructed in 1892 in nearby Cameron, Texas. The structure was doubled in size in 1985-86 after being moved to its present location.
Our other adjacent structures have been moved from Belton, Holland, and Georgetown. The original wood details, trim and doors have been carefully cleaned and restored. The interiors are exquisitely renovated, with close attention to every detail.

Alexander’s Craft Cocktails & Kitchen
Alexander’s Craft Cocktails & Kitchen was named after the distillery located on the grounds from 1861-1865, which washed away in a flood (historic marker located between the restaurant & The Manor).
The newly renovated main bar is located on 1st floor, and opens onto expansive wrap-around, creekside porches. Just a few steps down from the porches is an open deck situated beneath gracious Live Oak canopies.
Patrons enjoy dinner seating in two, 1st floor dining rooms as well as two casual seating areas adjacent to the bar. A “speakeasy” style secret passage (yes! A secret passage!) allows entry to 2nd & 3rd floor private dining rooms each with it’s own veranda overlooking the creek. These private areas behind the bookcase have been the backdrop for many-a-party. A 1920’s themed celebration is shown here.
The warm aubergine & copper walls of the upper floors contrast the amazing art representation from local galleries. The stunning view of Salado Creek as well as the grounds of the neighboring estate provide the perfect spot to enjoy your favorite beverage. Patrons choose from a variety of entree selections, appetizers, and adult beverages.
The Shed
The Shed is a casual spot to enjoy the game, have a beer, partake in an order of pulled pork nachos, and relax with friends. From the mason jar chandelier above your head when you first walk-in, to our unique bar, fashioned from the arched windows of a charming old church – you’ll love our relaxed, fun atmosphere!

You thought there were no traffic lights in the tiny Village of Salado? Wrong! Salado has ONE traffic light, and it’s here in The Shed! It’s how we tell the folks enjoying themselves with us that it’s “last call”.
