Open on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm, and 1 pm to 3 pm.

It is possible to organize group tours to the museum. You need to call and make a booking, so the tour is organized properly.

Why visit the museum?

  • The museum will inform and educate you about the railroad history of Flatonia. Through its exhibits, it shows how the railroad influenced the lives of local residents.
  • You can get to see a variety of exhibits at the museum. This includes models of trains, photographs, and various types of artifacts.
  • Once you are done visiting the museum, visit the Rail Park located across the street. You can get to see the rail car and rail interlocker here. The jailhouse is also located in the same premises and can be visited. You can also visit the tower that was built in 1920.
  • The Shults Photo Pavilion allows you to get a panoramic view of various trains that pass through Flatonia. It is a great place for train buffs to visit and enjoy train watching.
  • There are many events that are organized by the museum. If you visit when an event is on, then you can be a part of the event and learn more about the local railroad history.
